Who We Are

The Heavy Culture Cooperative (THCC) is a cooperative owned and operated by workers, artists, and fans. THCC was founded in 2022 with the goal of establishing a music and performing arts venue that embraces various subcultures within the underground arts community. With the help of dedicated members we achieved this goal, opening our doors to the public in January 2026.

The Board

THCC is served by a 9-person board, comprised of long-standing members of the Western MA arts community, with a focus on spotlighting the wide range of alternative arts from around the region, to around the country

The Venue

The Heavy Culture Cooperative is located at 1 Northampton Street, Easthampton, MA. Constructed in 1865 and previously known as “Memorial Hall,”  the building at 1 Northampton Street has a strong history in the city of Easthampton, having served as the former high school, an annex to the old town hall, a massage school, and bar. THCC began renovations on the building's interior in summer 2025 to ensure that the space is in ADA compliance, up to code with current fire safety standards, and was fitted with appropriate soundproofing that was acoustician-tested and approved. With the help of dedicated members, THCC has opened our bar doors to the public in January 2026. Live music is anticipated in begin in early 2026.
